A Child’s Christmas in Wales

The Orpheus Choir holds the safety of our singers and community as our top priority. Our board and its Covid-19 Committee have continued to ensure best practices and protocols have been followed throughout our recent in-person rehearsals and preparation for our upcoming concert, A Child’s Christmas in Wales.
Given recent events, with the spread of the Omicron COVID variant, the Board of Directors has decided, with heavy hearts, to cancel our concert on December 21st. The safety of our performers and audience must be our primary concern. We hope you will agree we are making a responsible decision.
We are proud that throughout the pandemic Orpheus has maintained a presence in the musical community through our virtual productions and our most recent Shining Stars hybrid presentation.
We want to thank you sincerely for your support, which allows us to continue sharing our music and our voices with you. We wish you all a very safe, and happy holiday season, and we hope to see you soon at our next concert in the new year.

Ein Deutsches Requiem
Saturday, April 9th, 2022 – 7:30 pm
Grace Church on-the-Hill

Drawn from the Old and New Testaments, Brahms’s Ein Deutsches Requiem is both grand and intimate, meditative and dramatic, giving consolation to the living and soothing the universal need for comfort in times of profound loss. A German Requiem is Brahms’s most expansive and moving oratorio… “an anthem for our times.“
This is the most challenging work of the season and offers an opportunity to showcase the growth of Orpheus as a choir.
We dedicate this concert to the memory of Father Edward Jackman, a generous donor and patron to Orpheus and to other arts organizations throughout Toronto.
This will be a live concert featuring the Orpheus Choir of Toronto with orchestra (Concordo Ensemble)
Artistic Director: Robert Cooper, CM
Assistant Conductor: Kai Leung
Accompanist: Christopher Dawes
